in January

The traditional New Year’s Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic takes place every year on January 1st. Secure your tickets in good time.

The Vienna Ice Dream is an absolute highlight and event in Vienna every year from January to March

The Vienna Opera Ball is the official state ball of Austria at the end of the carnival. Many celebrity guests from all over the world, celebrities and politicians give the big event additional splendor.

Depending on how Easter Sunday falls, the Easter markets traditionally start. One of the most famous at Rathausplatz or Schönbrunn Palace.

Every year in April, the Museumsquartier hosts the “Electric Spring” music festival. Find out about the artists in advance.

The Vienna City Marathon also takes place annually in April.

Events in Vienna in May

Labor Day: The holiday on May 1st is traditionally opened with the May Festival of the Kaiserwiese in the Prater. Numerous artists will perform here.

Events in Vienna in June

The Wiener Festwochen are among the most important art festivals in Europe. For a week, performances, music, visual arts, discourse and more are celebrated on various show stages in the city.

The annual Donauinselfest is the largest open-air festival in Europe and traditionally always takes place on a weekend towards the end of June. The Danube Island trembles.

The Rainbow Parade is a political demonstration for equal rights for gays and lesbians. Every year in June it crosses the Vienna Ringstrasse and ends at Schwarzenbergplatz.

Events in Vienna in July/August

The large summer cinema on Vienna’s Rathausplatz shows current films, nostalgic films, music and much more from July to the beginning of September.

The Wiener Wiesn in the Prater with artists and white sausage.

Events in Vienna in October

Every year at the beginning of October, the long night of leisure takes place throughout Austria. You can visit museums and galleries from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m

The Viennale, the Vienna International Film Festival, is a highlight of the Austrian art and culture scene. It shows productions from Germany and abroad, and the Vienna Film Prize is also awarded.

On October 26th, the Austrian national holiday, there is a performance show of the Vienna Armed Forces.

The Viennese Christmas markets traditionally open around mid-November. It’s really worth visiting.

Events in Vienna in December

The Christmas markets are still open until December 24th, after which they will be replaced by the New Year’s market.

The year ends with the New Year’s Eve Trail, which begins at the Graben and leads through the entire city. At midnight the Pummerin rings and we welcome the New Year.
